I Can Drive 55

Have gradually slowed the AM (only) commute from
65 to 55mph since that April 5th fill-up (142/365)

Holy cow. That is exactly the kind of nerdy thing we would do. I love it!

That is really cool that you are tracking this. You probably know that in Mass going 65 is often not even possible.

David Letterman once said of Bryant Gumbel: "He's the kind of guy who alphabetizes his colognes."

Wait - are there really people out there who DON'T track every drop of gas they put into their cars?

don't track it. I do make an effort to drive more efficiently these days though.

I remember the LeMans had a high tech doo-hickey that indicated fuel efficiency. state of the art in 1970.

Hwy am I not in the least bit surprised by this?

Interesting how you lost MPG immediately after an oil change. I wonder how well you'd be doing if you had that oil back?
BTW, I've been trying a different approach - Stand on pedal in morning until arriving at destination, then stop. Have you tried that? I get 30-33 mpg.

I used to do this kind of nerdy thing too. Maybe I'm being inspired again!!
